Queensland’s hard-working, professional teachers have been provided an interim pay increase of 3% by the Industrial Relations Commission.

It is important to note this decision is interim only and is hardly reflective of the conditions our teachers have been subjected to.

This step could have been taken much earlier by the LNP Government who have been deliberately dragging their heels on this.

The next stop on the QTU’s arbitration journey is in April 2027 which is the confirmed date for the substantive hearing.
