Delays at the Dawson Parade Level Crossing in Keperra have been frustrating motorists for many years.

In 2024 I successfully lobbied the then Minister for Transport and Main Roads to include the Dawson Parade Level Crossing in stage one (a planning study) of the SEQ Level Crossing Removal Plan.

A planning study is the first step towards a business case for each project. Studies are typically conducted by departments as a matter of course and are both inexpensive compared to the cost of the overall project and are often time-consuming and therefore important to conduct as early as possible in the process.

Because the Miles Government was not returned, this study has not occurred.

I do not believe our community should have to wait for a change of government for action on this important issue.

I have written to the LNP Minister for Transport and Main Roads and have requested his department undertake the study of the Dawson Parade Level Crossing.
