Honeycombes have advised my office the main construction works at Ferny Grove Central are now substantially complete and the finishing touches progressing across the precinct.
They are currently working towards a staggered opening of Ferny Grove Central during the week commencing 9 November 2026.
Today the final Development Application is sitting with the LNP Brisbane City Council. I look forward to their sign off.
The completion of the main construction works represents an important milestone for the project and for our community.
Across the precinct, the major buildings, public spaces, landscaping and internal infrastructure are now substantially complete. The final works are focused on completing the remaining road and bus infrastructure, together with the finishing activities required ahead of opening.
The retail precinct is now taking its final steps towards opening, with tenants progressing their fitouts and preparing their stores for trade.
The Fernery apartments are also approaching an exciting milestone, with construction substantially complete and final preparations underway. A limited number of apartments within The Fernery will also soon be available to rent.
Another important milestone has been achieved with buses now travelling through the Ferny Grove Central site, allowing final works to progress at the temporary bus stop location.
This is a significant step forward in completing the precinct’s transport infrastructure and preparing the new road network for operation.
The remaining major works are focused on the final road and bus infrastructure associated with the precinct that will support the operation of the new internal road network and future public transport services through Ferny Grove Central.
The connecting road between Conavalla Street and Samford Road is an essential part of this development and one I pushed for from the earliest stages.
