Storylines Art Bursary

The Story Lines Art Bursary is open to residents of the Ferny Grove Electorate and is sponsored by Mark Furner MP, the Member for Ferny Grove.

The Bursary's intent is to fund all or part of costs associated with the successful applicant's pursuit of studies or experiences to further their art and add value to the Ferny Grove community's creative potential. Artists may apply for the cost of purchase of materials, texts, course or study fees or other expenses deemed appropriate by the assessment panel.

2016 applications open Monday 11 July and close Monday 19 September. The applications will be judged by an independent assessment panel and the winners will be announced in October. The Major Award will be $2,000 with a Minor Award of $500.


YMCA Youth Parliament

Expression of interest are being accepted for the 2016 YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament through a new easy to access online registration process at Expression of interest registration will close at 5:00pm on Thursday, 31 December 2015.

Now in its 21st year, the YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament offers young Queenslanders aged 15 to 25 years the opportunity to stand up for their communities and learn first-hand about parliamentary processes.

White Ribbon Walk n' Wheels

On Saturday 21 November at 10:00am I am hosting a community event at the Ferny Grove State School. The White Socks Walk 'n Wheels is a White Ribbon Community Walk that I am encouraging everyone to take part in. This White Ribbon event will raise community awareness and make the statement that we will not be silent about violence towards women any more.
