White Socks Walk 'n Wheels
On Saturday 21 November at 10:00am I am hosting a community event at the Ferny Grove State School. The White Socks Walk 'n Wheels is a White Ribbon Community Walk that will raise awareness and make the statement that we will not be silent as a community any more about domestic violence. I am encouraging everyone to come along and take a stand. Whether you come on a push-bike or in a wheelchair, whether you wear the latest cross-trainers or a pair of old gum-boots, pull on your white socks and your loudest shirt and come on down to the school on Saturday morning of 21 November for the walk. We are asking people to donate $2 to the White Ribbon Australia event.

Relay For Life

On the evening of 31 October and into the morning of 1 November earlier this month my team of dedicated volunteers and I took part in the Moreton Bay Relay For Life on behalf of the Cancer Council Queensland. Over the last 20 years Relay For Life has been pivotal in providing the funds that support cancer sufferers and have improved screening and prevention methods. This year was no different as many people turned out in weird and wacky costumes – including our team – the Ferny Groovers and took their part in the Relay which raised tens of thousands of dollars for the Cancer Council.

Electricity Pricing

For those who wish to have a say on electricity pricing public submissions for the Pricing Inquiry close on 16 November and for the Solar Feed In Pricing Inquiry on 23 November. Visit www.qpc.qld.gov.au/inquiries for details. Both Inquires are due to report in late March 2016.
